Cameo is part of the Dr. Oetker group, founded in 1891 by the young pharmacist Dr. August Oetker. Dr. August lived in Bielefeld, a small town in northern Germany, where the headquarters are still located today. In 1893, Dr. Oetker introduced yeast in sachets for the first time, dosed exactly for ½ kg of flour. In 1933 the Italian branch of the German group was founded. Initially based in Milan, it moved in 1958 to Desenzano del Garda, where the development of the production and distribution of confectionery preparations continued.
