The brand Montana was born in Milan, the company ACSALSa (Azienda Carni Società Anonima Lissonese), filed the Montana brand on 12 March, changing the company name to Acsal Montana. In 1953 the first can of Montana meat was born. In 1962, Jambonet was born, a new mountain product in the picnic format. Today it is controlled by the Cremonini Group, through Inalca Spa, and is the absolute leader in Italy and one of the major European players in the beef sector, holds the leadership in Italy in the production of hamburgers and is the largest Italian producer of canned meat. Furthermore, through its subsidiary Italia Alimentari (born from the merger of Montana Alimentari and Ibis), it ranks among the leading Italian operators in the cured meats & snacks sector.
