Select was born from the founder Romualdo Aliberti he started the activity for the selection and packaging of legumes and dry cereals, creating the first plant in the sector. The company immediately showed a high orientation to the market: the use for the first time ever of a cardboard box to package legumes and cereals that from that moment, from bulk and undifferentiated products, are transformed into products with a memorable brand and recognizable: "Select". In 1982 it was established Select SpA, as a natural continuation of the activity, and the construction of the current plant inaugurated in 1984 is started. The total area of 40,000 square meters is covered for about 15,000 square meters and equipped with modern machinery for the selection and packaging of legumes and cereals. In 1989 the company name was changed to Agria SpA. It is in these years that the rise towards market leadership begins at the same time as the change in eating habits, when more correct information means the incidence of "well-being" diseases , the growing affirmation of vegetarian and vegan cuisine has oriented people towards healthy and nutritious foods. Legumes and dried cereals are today a fundamental and essential part of the Mediterranean Food Model, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, considered the most effective in the protection of health, complete, balanced and carrier of well-being all over the world.
