The Maffei pasta factory. Our story begins in a small village bakery, in the middle of the last century, in the eyes of a child who watches his grandfather's skilled hands work the fresh pasta. It is here that Savino Maffei, the founder of the company, learns the secrets of an ancient technique that will fascinate him for life and which will lead him, a few years later, to increase his experience in the kitchens of the ships of the Italians who emigrated to Australia. Just when many were deciding to leave, the young Maffei chooses to return and open a small laboratory in his native Barletta, where he begins to produce orecchiette and cavatelli. It is the dawn of a business, the beginning of a wonderful family story.
