Penne Pasta Sorelle Salerno

Salerno sisters it's not the classic fancy name (because it sounds good!) but it is the name of NunziaMichela is Giuseppina. They are the three Salerno Sisters, the ones who played in the grain warehouses as children and who grew up with that scent and attention typical of Southern Italian families.

In fact, the Salerno family's adventure began in 40s when John, husband and father of the current owners, e Gino, brother-in-law and uncle of the same, began the trade in cereals using carts and mules for the delivery of products. An essential role was that of Mom Sina (abbreviation of Teresita), who from home has always been close to Papa Giovanni and his three daughters with some advice or anecdote, useful for moving forward with confidence. The goodness of Salerno pasta comes from strength of the family. Even today, during the harvest period, no one can move to the summer residence a few kilometers from the company, because you have to stay on the spot, where everyone gives his contribution: those who take care of the children, those of the house, those of the fields, who of other daily commitments.

Mamma Sina always takes care of the kitchen, her kingdom, making sure that, when you return home after a long day of work, there is always something fresh and genuine to eat. The recipes are those that her mother taught her to cook and which she still makes today in the exact same way: le meatballs, the salads, the pasta with chickpeas or the cod.

The Salerno Sisters

Nunzia: the eldest daughter stands out for her tenacity and stubbornness. Graduated in Education Sciences and Psychology. Married to Giuseppe and Cecilia and Davide's mother, she continues to transmit the passion for her work despite the fact that she is no longer with us.

Michela: it is certainly the missed male, sly, explosive, sometimes too exuberant but with an immeasurable sweetness and a great lover of food. Precisely for this love of hers she is learning most of Mamma Sina's recipes. Married to Gaetano, she is the mother of Matilde and Lorenzo.

Giusy: the third daughter, knows in depth the culture, the context, the traditions of the place where she was born thanks to the friendships and ties that unite her to Cutro. Married to Giuseppe, she is the mother of Laura and Francesco.

Today Michela and Giusy, together with their husbands Gaetano and Giuseppe and Giuseppe husband of Nunzia, run their company in harmony and raise their six beautiful children together.
