Giovanni Rana was born in Cologna Veneta, in the province of Verona, on October 15, 1937, he founded his pasta factory in 1961, in the place that his father-in-law wanted to give. Today the Rana pasta factory is one of the world's leading producers of fresh pasta. Over the years, the rana pasta factory has received purchase offers from multinationals from Kraft to Unilever and then Barilla, but always declined. In 2018 its turnover is over 700 million euros with more than 3000 employees.
