In 1913, Luigi Zaini inaugurated the homonymous "Chocolate, Cocoa, Sweets, Jams and Similar Factory" in Milan, in Via de Cristoforis. Alongside the production, he imports English confectionery products, showing his open and visionary spirit from the outset. Zaini's cooking dark chocolate immediately became a spearhead of the production, and for the first few years it was called, in English, simply "Block", while the endless assortment of chocolates and candies would bear imaginative, suggestive and evocative names of the time.
